Data protection GDPR and IEC 17020

What is personal data?

Personal data refers to information that can be traced back to your identity. This includes, for example, your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.

How does Hertlease protect your personal data?

During the quotation process, your personal data and within your customer account will be transmitted encrypted via the internet using the SSL protocol (Secure Sockets Layer, key exchange: RSA 1024 bit; encryption of user data: Triple DES 1024 bit). You can recognise a secure connection by the way the address is displayed in the browser, it begins with "https://..." instead of "http://..." and a lock appears in the lower right corner of the window. We secure our website and other systems with technical and organisational measures against loss, irreparable damage, access, modification or distribution of your data by unauthorised persons.

Access to your customer account is only possible after you have entered your personal password. You should always keep your access codes secret and close the browser window or mobile applications after ending your communication with us, especially if you share the computer or mobile end-user device with others.

When does Hertlease use or process personal data?

We realise that it is very important for you to be sure that your personal data is handled with care. As data protection is a high priority at Hertlease, we strictly adhere to the legal requirements of the IEC17020 standard and the GDPR guidelines when collecting, processing and using data. In principle, you can use our internet site and our mobile applications without leaving any personal data.

Your personal data as well as details that you provide to us will be used by Hertlease for the purpose of processing orders, providing services and processing payments. With the exception of the service providers who work for us, we do not share data with third parties. We also need your details in order to inform you about your orders and Hertlease's services and offers.

Regarding IEC 17020 section confidentiality we have already made all necessary arrangements concerning data protection and you can find all information about it in our general terms and conditions chapter 1. Data will never be made public unless explicitly permitted. If we are required by law or are authorised by contractual obligations to disclose confidential data, we will inform the customer unless this is prohibited by law.

Hertlease and cookies

Our websites and mobile sites use cookies to enhance your online experience. By using our website and agreeing to the relevant guidelines, you declare that you allow us to use cookies in accordance with the provisions of this policy.

What is a cookie and how are cookies used on the Hertlease website?

A cookie is a file containing data (a string of letters and numbers) which is sent from a web server to a web browser when you visit a website, and which is then stored by the browser. The corresponding ID is then sent back each time the browser requests a page from the server.

Cookies do not contain any information that would identify you personally. However, it is possible that we link the personal data we have stored about you to the data stored in the cookies.

We use the information we obtain about your use of the cookies for the following purposes:

If you add items to your order form, but then decide not to make a purchase during your visit, we will store the reference number of the order form in a cookie to improve user-friendliness, so that you can retrieve the form on your next visit.

Is it safe to enable cookies?

Yes. Cookies are just short data strings that cannot perform any operations on their own. We recommend that you allow your web browser to accept cookies from our website.

How can I adjust my cookie settings?

To enable cookies, follow the instructions below that apply to your specific browser.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Mozilla Firefox

Google Chrome

Safari

What type of cookies are used on the Hertlease websites?

You can set your browser to not accept cookies (for more information, please refer to your browser's help text). However, please note that if you do so, certain personalised features of our website will no longer be available to you.

We use three types of cookies:

Session cookies - these are temporary files that are only activated during your visit (session) to our website. Normally your browser deletes these cookies as soon as you close your browser.

Persistent cookies - these files are active after the browser session has ended (e.g. if you register on a website and return later and visit the website again, the website has learned who you are and displays a corresponding welcome message). This is made possible by permanent cookies.

Third Party Cookies - When you use our website, third party cookies may be sent to you. If you visit a website with embedded content, e.g. YouTube videos, these websites may send you cookies. Distrelec does not control the setting of such cookies. We advise you to ask the websites of such third party providers for more information about these cookies and to search for the relevant options to manage them.

You can find more information about the use of cookies on the website at www.allaboutcookies.org.

Blocking cookies

Most browsers offer the possibility of blocking cookies. An example of this is:

However, blocking all cookies has a detrimental effect on the usability of many websites.

Deleting cookies

Of course, you can also delete cookies already stored on your computer.

Indicate now that you will not allow this

This website uses so-called re-targeting technology to collect and store anonymous information about the surfing behaviour of the website visitor. This data is stored on your computer in so-called "cookie" text files. This technology uses an algorithm to analyse surfing behaviour, and targeted product recommendations can then be displayed as interest-based advertising banners on other websites (also known as publishers). Under no circumstances may this data be used to personally identify visitors to this website. The data collected is used exclusively to improve the offer. The data is not otherwise used or transferred to third parties.

Embedding of social media plug-ins

Plug-ins of the social media Facebook, Google etc. are used on our website. Our website thus displays a button "+ 1" or "f" or "Thumb Up". These are offers from the US companies Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) and Facebook Inc. ( 1601 S California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94394 USA).

Only when you click the "+ 1" or "f" or "Thumb Up" button will your browser establish a direct connection to the servers of Facebook or Google. The content of the button "+ 1" or "f" or "Thumb Up" is then directly transmitted to your browser by Google or Facebook and incorporated into the website by the browser. We therefore have no influence on the amount of data collected by Google or Facebook using the button.

On their websites, Facebook and Google (http://www.facebook.com/policy.php; http://www.google.com/Intel/de/+/policy/+1button.html) provide detailed information about the scope, type, purpose and further processing of your data, as well as your rights concerning the protection of your privacy.

If you log out of your social network pages (Facebook and Google +) for the first time and delete the set cookies, you can prevent Facebook and Google from collecting data about you during your visit to our website.

Spam/DDOS protection

For protection against spam and DDOS attacks on our website, Google reCAPTCHA is used. This service analyses your behaviour on the website, your computer configuration (including any Google cookies already installed) and your IP address to determine whether you are a genuine or malicious user. If a problem is detected, you will have to prove that you are not a robot in order to complete certain tasks. For example, when submitting a form.

This information is exchanged directly between your computer and Google's servers in Europe and the United States. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the information they collect, nor on what this information is subsequently used for.

Google reCAPTCHA is a service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Ampitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. For more information about the scope, type and further processing of your data and information on how to protect your privacy, please refer to the privacy policy (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/) and the terms of service (https://www.google.com/policies/terms/) of Google.
